Actually, I was told that persons in our age group do get hired. We have life experiecnce on our side, and some times that can help you more then hurt. I am 55, so you are not alone here, there are a lot of people these days in that same boat. So if it is something that you would really like to do, then go for it.

Well I read how this field is explodeing, and after loseing my job of 24 years in another field due to technology, I went to school to be a Medical Assistant, did my externship and loved it! I got my certification. But here is the real kick in the pants. Try to get one of these jobs with no real experience. It is nearly impossible. So I moved to a state that has a lot of jobs, and it is a struggle. I am not giving up, I am still out there looking to get one of those 417,000 jobs that are out there?

if u do a CNA course try to find one that is free. Call ur local nursing homes or check the paper to see if they offer it for free. Iam a CNA and a Medical Assitant. I still looking for a job in that field and its been over a year. When u do ur clinicals they may hire you there. I did my clinicals it was a small place. With a CNA u can always find a job. So good luck.
